What this does and does not tell you
The arithmetic here is the same arithmetic behind any cutting quote. What it cannot do is the hard part: getting the cut length, the pierce count and the material consumption off an actual customer drawing. On a simple bracket that is a few minutes with a ruler. On a real RFQ with twenty parts across three materials it is most of an afternoon, and it is where estimates drift apart between people.
