How waterjet quoting differs from laser and plasma

Water jet shops quote on pierce count, cut speed by thickness, taper, and abrasive consumption — variables that laser and plasma estimators rarely touch. Generic quoting tools treat every process the same; waterjet needs its own logic.

Thick plate, stacked cuts, and mixed-material jobs punish rough estimating. A part that looks simple on the drawing may need dozens of pierces or slow passes on hardened stock. AutoCut pulls geometry from the file so pierce and cut-length costs stay tied to the drawing.
