Profile Cutting Solutions →Why quoting has to be configured per machine
Two shops running nominally identical machines do not have identical costs. Age, condition, power, gas or abrasive supply, labour rate and utilisation all move the real hourly figure, and a quoting tool built on industry averages will be confidently wrong for almost everybody. Rates have to be yours.
The same is true within a shop. A 4kW fibre laser and a 6kW machine cutting the same part produce different cut times, and if both feed the same rate table your quotes are wrong on one of them. Holding rates per machine rather than per process is what keeps the numbers honest once you have more than one bed.
AutoCut keeps a rate library per machine and a material library alongside it, so the drawing is costed against the specific equipment that will actually cut it. Choose your machine type below to see what drives cost on that process.
